Hello 2018! Farewell 2017 , Cheers to New Beginnings | Monday Motivation

Happy New Year. I hope you all enjoyed your New Years Eve with loved ones and it was safe. Welcome to The Introverted Lifestyle blog, for those of you whom have been following since 2016 thank you for the continuous support, for those of you who just came across my page, welcome and enjoy. I’ve been brainstorming this first post of the New Year all day. One thing I did to reflect on my progress with this blog was looking at my post going into 2017 and I was proud of what I had shared with you all. If you wish to check out click here and come back to this post to catch up.

First of all, I am Jasminne, that is the name my momma named me when I was born April 18th and that will be my brand. Ms Honey is no longer my “alias”, “alter ego”, or whatever you want to call it. So I am Jasminne, nice to properly meet you.

Moving on, I spent my New Years Eve eating pizza (sorry Keem), watching YouTube tutorials, and movies on Netflix. For the last 4 years I have chosen to either attend a church service or stay home where it is safe, calm, and free (literally). As I get older I am tired of doing the same things, purchasing VIP sections, spending money on hair and nails, outfits, shoes just to enjoy one night out with friends and regretting it the next day when I look at my bank account. Honestly I feel as though when I go out to a club it should be for an occasion, I should be celebrating some accomplishment, and not just “celebrating life”. Let’s be honest, I am not content with what my bank account currently looks like, what my current credit score is, and my current job status.

One thing I always strive to do each year is to do better financially. This year will be about sacrifices. Working on my personal and business goals, no unnecessary spending, and more of doing things that are more beneficial to helping me achieve goals so that I am better off. No eating at restaurants when I can buy groceries and cook at home, especially since I do not eat meat its less pleasing when I eat out. I had two drinks for the first time in three months just two weeks ago and I didn’t miss it, grant it I was filthy drunk but still. It wasn’t a challenge to give up hard liquor it was a simple choice that stemmed from not liking the taste of liquor, I mean all liquor doesn’t taste good. I also didn’t like wasting my day away sleeping and lying around because I was just drowsy from drinking not even hung over. Also with a healthy lifestyle of eating right my tolerance is low so it doesn’t take much to get tipsy. Being as though I have chosen not to drink hard liquor I do like wine & champagne. But this makes it that much easier not to go to Happy Hour, or a night out of food and drinks, and that is also money that I am saving.

As I stated in a previous post, 5 Things I’ve Learned About Myself in 2017, I do not typically make New Years Resolutions, but what I do is set short-term and long-term goals. I will share one of each with you all from my 2018 Goal List.

A short-term goal of mine is to finish what I will start this month by May to help advance my makeup knowledge. So that’s a 5 month goal. A long-term goal of mine, by December 2018 I want to be booked and busy with makeup appointments. Yes I was a bit bummed I didn’t much bookings this past weekend or the previous holiday weekend, but everything happens on gods timing and also if you want long-term success you have to be patient and keep working at it.

For my brand , I love how I motivate myself daily because I can see the bigger picture. I love that I am in control of what I post, what I share with viewers, and when I post. If you are new to my blog, I have a YouTube channel that is also The Introverted Lifestylea Facebook page The Introverted Lifestylean Instagram page, The Introverted Lifestyle, a podcast The Introverted Single Friend on Apple Music and Soundcloud. Yes I own my domain name for my website. One piece of advice I would give to someone who wants to start a blog page or YouTube channel, be consistent , focus on your content and do not worry about the followers or subscribers, that will come in due time. Hell I started my YouTube channel in 2016 and I only have 50 subscribers but I wasn’t consistent with the channel until Summer 2017.

A popular resolution that people tend to have for themselves is cutting people off. Honey, I didn’t wait until 2018 to do that I cut people off continuously throughout 2017 right then and there. I did not explain why I cut them off, they no longer had access to me by any means. When you want to do something to bring positivity to your life do it, no questions asked, no explanations provided. You can’t expect different results if you keep doing the same thing over and over again.

Cheers to 2018 and share with me your personal or business goals. Also let me know what you would like to see more of on my blog or YouTube channel.
