Welcome to my new blog site / brand, I Am Ms. Honey. I know you all are wondering, “what is she doing?”, “where’s the entertainment site?”, I’ll get to that.
2016 has been a year of the new for me and with just 4 months left of the year, I plan to make the most of it!
I want to thank the loyal readers who tuned into Honey Addict Blog daily, liked an Instagram post or left a comment, and sent their music to the email account for submissions, it has all appreciated. The Honey Addict Blog started in 2013 the year I lost a full-time paying job and I needed to know what my next step was going to be, I needed something to consume my time. With my passion for music (I didn’t want to sing or rap) I figured I could start a blog where I get to include my writing skills and what about subjects like friendships, relationships and even post about my favorite reality shows as well. I planned and hosted an event with local talent and used my own money and it was a success, that’s something I never thought I could do (the introvert in me). I interviewed local artists not only from Pittsburgh, but New York, Florida, and Chicago just to name a few. Back in 2015, I lost the motivation to keep the site going, as I no longer had a team of bloggers who contributed to the music, fashion, and topic columns, on top of personal family issues, it was down to just me to keep it going. While I am grateful for those individuals, but having a music blog you can’t do it without a team it’s so much to keep up with.
For quite some time now I’ve been thinking about a new direction, a new journey, hell I even thought of putting blogging to rest. They say “…just when you think about quitting you have a breakthrough.” I just knew I no longer wanted to blog about music, it didn’t hold my interest whether it was local or mainstream music, and I also didn’t want to feel like I needed someone to accomplish my goals or feel any time of way that I no longer had a team. Yes, the site geared more towards local artists, local event’s and reality television shows, there are soooo many music blogs out that it’s hard to stand out and be authentic. The blog has reached 170k views just in 2 1/2 years without any paid promotions this all came from social media and word of mouth.
I Am Ms. Honey is my lifestyle, it’s all about positive vibes and having peace of mind while doing the daily things I love: writing, working out, playing in makeup, watching reality-ratchet TV shows and going to Target to get new hair products.
