It’s been a while since I’ve shared a makeup look of the day or even uploaded a makeup tutorial on my channel. I was browsing my news feed on Instagram and I came across a post from MakeupbyDenise and she shared a technique “underpaint”, apply your makeup in reverse.
When I apply my makeup I use a liquid foundation, a powder for contour, a cream Concealer and of course powder for setting. I typically begin with my brows and moving onto the Eyeshadow, this way I don’t have worry about any fall out on my foundation.
With the underpaint flow application, you would use all liquid and cream based products. Begin by applying a moisturizer followed by the primer of your choice. Then begin to apply a cream based contour around your forehead, along your cheekbones, your nose and jawline. You then use any cream based Concealer to highlight your under-eye, nose, chin, forehead and Cupid’s bow.
This technique is used to give a more natural look. It may seem like a lot of make up but in all actuality you’re using less foundation. After you’ve applied the contour and highlight you’ll take a beauty blender, or foundation brush apply foundation to the tool and begin to blend all over your face. You can then set under your eyes, nose, forehead, Cupid’s bow and chin. Once that is applied begin filling in your brows, clean them up with a little Concealer and then apply your Eyeshadow. After that you can apply your glowy highlight, blush, and lipstick.
This is the final look and I loved this look of the day. I attended a brunch event with my cousin and I received amazing compliments.
