Summer time is the fun season that you wear bright lip colors and shimmer eye shadows. This look I am sharing you can wear to happy hour, or a night in the city with the girls.
When I start my makeup I always moisturize my skin and right now I am faithfully using E.L.F Cosmetics facial moisturizer. You can purchase it from Target for $7-$12. I then use the NYX photo-loving primer all over my face , followed by NYX eye shadow base primer for my eyes.
Let’s back up a second, I started doing my own makeup January of 2015. I got hired at my current job and it’s in the city and so the scene is more professional– I came from the medical field wearing scrubs and no jewelry. I was the girl who didn’t feel I needed makeup nor did I care to learn to wear it. I figured I’m getting older, I have a nice job and I’m tired of people thinking I’m 18!
I watched YouTube tutorials religiously every chance I got. One of the first beauty vloggers I came across was KathleenLights and that’s when I got introduced to E.L.F. cosmetics because she did a drug store makeup tutorial that was so simple for beginners.
Okay, now you have my background let’s get to it. I think start with my eyebrows and trust me it takes a while to perfect them . We all know how important eyebrows are, they frame your face. I use Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz or the Brow Definer this is the ONLY product I use for my eyebrows. You can purchase this at Ulta or Sephora. I don’t wax my own brows I go to a salon and then I just outline and fill in my brows–they’re naturally thin.
Next, I go to the eyes. I use E.L.F. matte eye shadow palette which I bought at Target months ago. I used the light brown shade for my crease followed by the dark brown shade for the outer corner. I used the MAC Cosmetics burgundy x9 palette for my lid for the shimmer look.
We move on to foundation. For this look I used the CoverFx Natural Finish Oil-Free foundation in the shade G70. I purchased from Sephora. It is a liquid foundation in a tube, the consistency is thick but it blends well with a damp beauty blender.
I apply concealer to my under eyes, forehead, bridge of my nose, and my chin. I used the Maybelline Master Conceal in the medium shade. I purchased this from Walgreen’s , $9. I set the concealer with NYC loose translucent powder in neutral , from Target.
We all know how important contouring has become! Your face has to look snatched, honey. I used Black Radiance True Complexion in the light to medium shade from Rite Aid , $8. For blush I used the E.L.F. Blush Palette. For the lips I used my all time favorite Mac ‘Snob’- matte shade. The brushes I used are from Morphe, and E.L.F.
