Make-up Monday: Fenty Beauty Review | Beauty

Friday after work I went to Sephora to finally purchase items from the Fenty Beauty line. I wanted to wait a while before I jumped and purchased from the collection. All items are available at FentyBeauty.com and Sephora online/ in store. The foundation is one thing I can not purchase online. I wore the products over the weekend and I can finally share my thoughts and provide you all with the Fenty Beauty Review.

I have recently shared my Sephora Mini Haul, after Saturday nights glam I had to return to Sephora and purchase items I did not grab the first time. What made the deal better for me was that my best friend had given me a gift card for my birthday that I never used. I picked up the Match Matte Skinstick ‘Mocha’ for Contour and the ‘Sand’ for the Concealer. These are both cream based products. I did not purchase the brushes from the collection, I simply used my holy-grail real technique brushes from Ulta.

The Fenty Beauty collection does not include setting Powder, mascara, or eye liner. The Killawatt Freestyling Highlight can be used for highlight and eyeshadow. Pictured above are the products I used over the weekend. Below are the final looks.

The ladies at Sephora are so helpful and knowledgeable. When it comes to foundation the shades are either too light or too dark for me. The lighting in Sephora isn’t all that great either. I have watched Alissa Ashley as well as Makeup Shayla’s review on Youtube which helped me make my decision of what to purchase from the collection.

The Pro Filt’r Soft Matte Longwear Foundation is a perfect match for me. It oxidizes so when I tried it on in the store I let it settle for a few minutes. I like that the bottle has a pump for easy application. I pump a few times on my hand and I use the E.L.F. foundation brush to apply to my face. A little goes a long way and it does not feel cakey or drying. I set my face with the NYX Set It, Don’t Fret It Setting Powder in the shade ‘Medium’.

For my eyebrows I switch between the E.L.F. Eyebrow palette in ‘dark’ or the NYX Contour Highlight Brow Stick in ‘Taupe’.

For Concealer and Contour I typically use Mac Cosmetics Prolongwear Concealer and the Tarte Clay Play Face Palette which is powder based. I was a little on the fence when it came to the Matte Skinstick’Sand’Concealer simply because it is a little thick consistency and I wasn’t sure how it would blend but I like it. I set the Concealer with the Makeup Revolution Banana Powder. The Matte Skinstick ‘Mocha’ for Contour was perfect. I opted for the individual sticks rather than the Match Matte Skinstick Trio because the Medium was too light and the Tan was too dark. I blended the product with the Real Techniques blending brush and I love the natural look finish.

I purchased the Killawatt Freestyling Highlight Duo in the shades Girl Next Door and Chic Phreak, I applied GND on the eye lids and Chic Phreak for the highlight on my cheeks and nose.

Being as though I love lipgloss and lipstick I had to grab the Fenty Glow Gloss Bomb. It is shiny and moisturizing and it smells so good. For Mascara I have been using MaybellinexShayla Baddest Black for the top and Poppin Purple for the lower lash line.

All in all I would give this collection 4 stars out of 5. Simply because I want Rihanna to release an eyeshadow palette and Mascara. I used the products today for work and it did not take long at all to put together a simple look.
